A dentist on Begu Road in Sirsa was attacked with sharp weapons by four unidentified youths, leaving him seriously injured. The city police registered an FIR on Friday based on the victim’s statement.

According to reports, Dr Deepak of Mela Ground and owner of JR Dental Hospital, was alone at his clinic on Thursday night when a man arrived under the pretext of seeking dental treatment.

While he was talking to Dr Deepak, three youths who were armed with sharp weapons stormed into the clinic. The group attacked the dentist, who sustained serious injuries. Hearing his cries for help, the assailants fled the scene.

Dr Deepak alleged that the attack was orchestrated by Rahul Soni, owner of a private medical store on Begu Road, and his brother-in-law Vicky. The dentist claimed that he had an altercation with Rahul two years ago, which could have led to the assault. Locals rushed Dr Deepak to the Civil Hospital and informed the police about the incident.

The city police recorded the victim’s statement and registered a case against the unidentified assailants. They said the suspects would be identified and arrested soon.
