Ludhiana, August 31

The Sikh Katleam Peerat Welfare Society has welcomed a Delhi court’s decision against Jagdish Tytler.

Surjit Singh, president of the association, said that after 40 years, Tytler was held responsible for the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom outside Gurdwara Pul Bangash. Surjit Singh and Gurdeep Kaur, in a joint statement, said a case should also be made against Kamalnath, who had triggered riots outside Gurdwara Rakab Ganj, New Delhi. The society members also demanded the Vidhan Sabha session be started soon. The Sikh Katleam Peerat Welfare Society members demanded that a Censure Motion be brought in the Vidhan Sabha so that all those responsible for 1984 riots be held responsible and justice could be given to 10,000 Sikhs who lost their lives in the riots.
