Shri Ganganagar Tilak Bridge Express collides with tractor-trolley, none hurt

The Shri Ganganagar-Tilak Bridge Express collided with a tractor-trolley in the outer area of Sadulshahar railway station on Friday night. The train engine and several coaches were damaged while the tractor was broken into pieces. No loss of life has been reported in the incident.

According to information, the incident occurred at around 8.45 pm near Gram Panchayat Takhat Hazara, two km from Sadulshahar.

Teams of Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) from Shri Ganganagar reached the spot. After arrival of a new engine, the train was dispatched with a delay of about three hours.

Preliminary investigation indicated that when the tractor driver was trying to cross the railway track through a small lane near Takhat Hazara village, he saw the train approaching and ran away leaving the tractor on the spot. The tractor had a massive collision with the engine of the train.

Police said that efforts are being made to identify the tractor driver on the basis of the vehicle number.
