Shimla DC calls for swift resolution of revenue cases
Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has directed revenue officers and field staff to expedite the resolution of longstanding revenue cases, stressing that delays will lead to disciplinary actions. Kashyap chaired a district-level review meeting focused on clearing the backlog of revenue matters, some of which have been pending for over two years.
He emphasised that the state government prioritises addressing delayed cases and called for weekly status updates via video conferencing. Officers were instructed to prioritise cases pending for the last two years, with strict orders to expedite their resolution. Tehsildars and other revenue officials presented the status of their cases, and Kashyap warned of consequences for any unnecessary delays.
Kashyap also directed SDMs to settle cases promptly within their jurisdictions. In addition, he ordered immediate verification of those receiving relief under the special disaster relief package and urged faster completion of drone-based surveying in villages under the Swamitva Yojana, noting that work remains pending in 273 villages.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the district-level Sukashrya Kosh initiative and encouraged officers to contribute to it. Under the School Adoption Programme, he instructed officials to regularly inspect schools in their respective areas and push forward developmental projects.
Kashyap issued show-cause notices to the Tehsildar and Naib-Tehsildar who were absent during the meeting, ordering them to report to his office on November 6. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Abhishek Verma, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Ajit Bhardwaj, District Revenue Officer Sanjeet Sharma, all SDMs and other revenue department officers.
