A delegation of SGPC members, led by its president Harjinder Singh Dhami, today approached Akal Takht officiating Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and complained about the alleged “disrespect” shown towards the “saroop” of Guru Granth Sahib during the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s wedding.

The “saroop”, enshrined in a special ‘Palki Sahib’ vehicle, was ferried to the CM’s house to perform the wedding rituals on July 7. The SGPC members alleged that the vehicle carrying the “saroop” was intercepted at the entrance to the CM’s residence.

On July 7, CM Mann got married to Dr Gurpreet Kaur and the marriage was solemnised according to Sikh rituals.
