In a move towards enhancing collaboration with the industry sector, the zonal office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) participated in an interactive session on social security measures hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at its northern region headquarters.

Sumita Dawra, Secretary, Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, graced the event with his presence.

The EPFO highlighted its continued efforts towards providing seamless services to its members. It showcased the series of reforms aimed at reducing compliance burden, ensuring transparency and expanding access to its services through digital platforms.

Other key initiatives discussed during the event included auto settlement of claims Introduced by the EPFO as an automated process to ensure faster and error-free claim intended at reducing rejections and hassle for the members. End-to-end online facilities for employers and employees through a digitised platform reduced the need for physical interaction and paperwork.

Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner Kumar Rohit elaborated the Sugam Smart Pension Samadhan initiative taken by the zonal office to make the services to prospective pensioners smooth by helping them consolidate their multi-establishments’ services and settlement of their online pension claims ‘objection-free’. The Central Pension Payment System, which would start on January 1 next year, would centralise pension disbursement, bringing transparency, accuracy and uniformity to the pension payment system obviating the need to transfer pension payment orders to multiple offices and bank branches.
