Students of the school participated in a five-day camp on disaster management on the university campus. A visiting team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) educated the students on what to do when faced with natural disasters like flood and earthquake. Deputy Commandant Rishi Mahajan led the team. They also gave a demo of how to tackle these disasters. An exhibition was held outside Teg Bahadur Hall for the benefit of university students. Dr Balraj Singh Saini, Dean, College Development Council, addressed the students on the occasion.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
