To create awareness among people against corruption, the District Vigilance Bureau held a seminar at Mata Gujri College here today. Daljit Singh Rana, SSP (Vigilance), was the keynote speaker on the occasion while Sukhminder Singh Chauhan, SP (Vigilance), presided over the seminar.

Addressing participants at the seminar, the SSP said, “Corruption is the biggest obstacle in development of country. It is our moral duty to eradicate this menace as the government alone cannot eradicate it without help of society.”

He called upon the people to support the Vigilance Department to eradicate the menace and make society corruption free. He said giving or accepting bribes for any work in government or non-government offices and in any other field was a legal crime. He said appealed to officials to work in such a way which helped in increasing people’s confidence in the government system.

Sukhminder Singh Chauhan, SP (Vigilance), Fatehgarh Sahib, “The Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated by the bureau till November 3 under the theme “Culture of honesty for the prosperity of the nation”.
