A delegation of guest faculty teachers working in various colleges have sent a demand letter to Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria through former Minister of State Vijay Sampla and former Cabinet Minister Tikshan Sood.

Demanding action against the AAP government, they said, “AAP leaders had promised before the Assembly elections that the guest faculty teachers would be appointed on a priority after the formation of the government, but after coming to power, this government has failed to fulfil its promises.”

Sampla assured the delegation that he would make efforts to resolve their problems. He said the previous Congress government in Punjab had allowed the recruitment of teachers in 1,158 government colleges by taking a simple written test.

“At the time other parties alleged rigging, and the process was stopped by the High Court. But now the model code of conduct is in place for the panchayat poll, yet permanent recruitment is being justified and guest teachers are being neglected. The government should fulfil their demands,” he said.
