Sec 26 blasts Both accused delivered bombs on Karnal Road
Two aides of gangsters Kala Jathedi and Goldy Brar, who have been nabbed for carrying out low-intensity crude bomb blasts outside two clubs in Sector 26, reportedly acted on the instructions of Randeep Malik, a close associate of Goldy Brar. The bombs were exploded to instil fear among club owners and make them pay extortion money.
Sources said Randeep, believed to be residing abroad, arranged weapons and explosives. His name had surfaced in a viral Facebook post that claimed the responsibility for the blasts.
The sources said Randeep got in touch with the assailants using the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) app and told them to collect a bag containing the bombs from a location near a milestone on the Karnal Road.
When the accused reached the location, they found the bag lying there.
“The accused didn’t have information about the identity of the person who left the explosives on the Karnal road,” the sources added.
Randeep assured the attackers that he would facilitate their relocation abroad after the attack. They were given an initial payment before and promised more money later. The accused were apprehended after a joint operation by the Chandigarh and Haryana police on the outskirts of Hisar. They were shot in the leg in the encounter.
Around 3:15 am on November 26, two motorcycle-born assailants carried out blasts at Seville, a bar and lounge, and De’Orra, another club located just 30 metres away. A few hours later, a Facebook post from an account under the name Goldy Brar went viral. The post claimed that Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, who are associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, are responsible for the attacks. The names of Randeep Malik and Varinder Charan were also mentioned in the post.
