SDM oversees extinguishing of stubble fires in villages

After receiving information about a few farmers in Shaheedgarh, Fatehpur Rayian, Ralli and Karimpura villages, etc having set stubble alight in their fields, Bassi Pathana SDM Harveer Kaur, along with other officials and the fire brigade, rushed there to get the situation under control, following which she urged farmers not to burn stubble.

The SDM interacted with the farmers and briefed them about the ill effects of burning stubble and urged them to plough the stubble into their fields. She assured them the government would provide them with the machinery required for stubble management. The SDM informed the farmers that administrative officers had been appointed as nodal officers and would help them. She urged the farmers to cooperate in the campaign launched by the district administration to curb pollution. She said police cases were being registered against farmers who set stubble on fire and red entries were also being made in their land records.

The SDM was accompanied by administrative officials of Khera and Bassi Pathan blocks, AR Cooperative Societies, SDO Panchayati Raj, SDO Water Supply and Sanitation, Panchayat Secretary and Patwaris of the respective areas.
