The Chatiwind police have booked the accused woman, Manjit Kaur (50), of the same village. No arrest has been made till now as she along with her family absconded from their house. The police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Bhupinder Singh, son of the victim, said his brother Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Khairdin Ke, along with his family had come to his house on Thursday. He said in the evening when they were returning on his bike, a polythene bag which his wife Sukhwinder Kaur was carrying got entangled with the scooter parked outside the residence of accused Manjit Kaur. Owing to being stuck in the motorcycle, the polythene bag got torn and all material, including eatables, fell on the road.
