Students celebrate Basant Panchami, enjoy fun activities

Students celebrated Basant Panchami with enthusiasm. Students came dressed in yellow attire and brought yellow-coloured food. Various craft activities were held in which students made colourful kites. The celebrations were held both in offline and online mode.

Students celebrated Basant Panchami with pomp and show. The spring of joy took over when students displayed their talent through various activities like kite making, preparing Basant Panchami delicacies, making paper fun birds and participating in the quiz ,thereby, displaying enthusiasm on this joyous occasion.
Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Sr Sec Public School, Dhanora-Ladwa
Student of classes VI to VIII participated and showed their knowledge, interactional skills, analytical skills and ability to respond in intra-class inter-house computer quizzes. In Class VI, Madhvi, Manmeet, Yashika and Devansh of Nehru House secured the first position, Yosvi, Viren and Simran of Indira House bagged the second prize, while Yuvraj, Riya and Tanish of Tagore House came third. In Class VII, Livesh, Sidhant, Ritesh and Gurpreet of Tagore House bagged the first position, Tanshpreet, Antra, Shiv and Jaskaran of Indira House came second, Rupanshi, Bhakti, Kovidh and Sanyam of Ashoka House bagged the third place in the quiz. In Class VIII, Kanika, Anvi, Mahi and Karanpreet of Nehru House came first, Aditya, Ashmeet, Ishan and Bhagya of Indira House got second, Suryansh, Keshav, Shanvi and Kashish of Ashoka House bagged the third place in the computer quiz. Principal Dherminder Khera congratulated the winners and exalted them for their efforts. He appreciated the efforts of quiz masters Ajay Gupta and Rohit Seth.
KBDAV Senior Secondary Public School, Chandigarh
The school welcomed back its alma mater Manika Sheokand, VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020, on the school campus. The day was eagerly awaited by both sides. The arrival of Manika brought in with her that sparkle that ebullience, that victorious smile of being THE MISS INDIA! Manika was welcomed with bouquets, rose-buds, placards with her winning picture and a beautiful red tilak on her forehead. She was accompanied by her parents, brother and members of the family. Founder-Principal Madhu Bahl, Principal Pooja Prakash along with coordinators and teachers of the school graced the occasion. A PPT presentation narrated her journey that started with her Alma Mater and has taken a sojourn at the Miss Grand India 2020 Title. Manika joined the school in Class VII and passed out of Class XII with 82.4 per cent in Science Stream.

Students celebrated Basant Panchami with joy and fervour. Students, along with their parents, sought blessings from Goddess Saraswati. The celebration started with the singing of the spiritual song – ‘Hey Sharde Maa’. To seek the blessings of the Almighty, students along with their parents and the faculty members sat together to put ‘Aahutis’ in the Havan Kund, while chanting the sacred mantras. The Havan ceremony was performed with divine fervor and spirituality. The spring of joy took over when students performed a skit ‘Saras Vaani’, highlighting the significance of the festival. The students truly enjoyed the celebration and enthusiastically shared the joy of festivity with everyone. Principal Urvashi Kakkar apprised students about the significance of the day and glorified the magnificence of Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of knowledge and wisdom.
Saupin’s School, Panchkula
A havan ceremony was organised for Class X students on the school premises to seek blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Students prayed to the goddess of knowledge and wisdom to bless them in their studies; keep them motivated and spirited to perform well in the Board examinations. Principal Dr Jayeta Auddy and teachers also prayed with students and wished them luck. Prasad and holy water were later distributed to students and teachers.
Moti Ram Arya Sr Sec Model School, Chandigarh
NSS students have been utilising their skills, time and talents during the pandemic by making short videos to create awareness among students, their family members and others in neighbourhood as well as sending informative messages using online platforms. A large number of volunteers under the able guidance of Principal Dr Seema Biji and NSS Programme Officer Meenu Sood distributed disposable masks to students of classes X and XII. Students have been told to wear masks all the time during the school time and maintain social distancing among themselves. They have been told to sanitise their hands at regular intervals.

Students of classes VII A and B gave a virtual presentation on the topic ‘Mirrors and Lenses’. Students displayed beautiful placards and spoke confidently about their topic. Through these activities, students learn to communicate their ideas, knowledge, logical reasoning and research-work effectively.
Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh
Arnav Bansal and Satvik Garg of Class VIII took part in the All-India ‘ATL Student App Innovation Challenge 2020’ and brought laurels for the school. Globalites created an app on agriculture practices. The app was designed to automate key functional aspects of agriculture while focusing on not just managing the core agriculture process but also aid in improving various agriculture verticals. The school management and Principal Nina Panday congratulated the future innovators and inspired them to strive for more.
