St Mary’s School, Chandigarh, students bag top positions in sports events
Students of the school secured top positions in various state and national sports events. Ritik Maan, a student of Class II-A, won gold medal in javelin throw in the U-8 boys’ category at the Sub Junior and Junior State Athletics Championship. Samar (Class IV-A) secured gold medal in javelin throw in the U-10 boys’ category at the same championship. Aksh Mor (Class VI-C) won gold medal in javelin throw in the U-12 boys’ category at the Sub Junior and Junior State Athletics Championship. Samreen Saini (Class IV-A) earned three silver medals in the U-10 girls’ category at the Sub Junior and Junior State Athletics Championship. Harshit Hooda (Class VI-C), won silver medal at the third WSKO North India Karate Championship. Gurleen (Class VII-C) won silver medal in the 600 m race and bronze medal in long jump at the Punjab Khel Mela. Harkarandeep Singh (Class VIII-C) clinched gold medal in U-17 boys’ wrestling at the Inter-School State Championship. Chairman Rev Fr Aji K Chacko and Principal Dr Martin Das Rao congratulated the students for their exceptional achievements and wished them continued success in their future endeavours.
