Schools organise an array of events

To promote the generosity of giving in students, the school took an initiative of donating new or outgrown woolens, shoes and pair of socks to provide warmth to the needy ones. It was a great success with the help of students as they donated woollens, eatables, snacks, groceries, shoes and toys wholeheartedly. All articles were well packed and dropped to the orphanage Prabh Aasra -Home for less fortunate ones, Kurali. Sardar Shamsher Singh, the founder of orphanage, appreciated the efforts done by the school and students. Students received their blessings in return.
Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Sr Sec School, Dhanora
Tributes were offered and a tree plantation was held to mark the birthday of Hindi poet and former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, by President Pawan Garg, Secretary Ravindra Bansal, Principal Dharmendra Kheda, Vice-Principal Narendra Sharma. Recalling his main achievements as the Prime Minister, including the Golden Quadrilateral and Village Road Scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Pokhran nuclear test, victory in Kargil war and revolution in the telecom sector, Pawan Garg called him as a true patriot and a great personality. Pawan Garg wished everyone a Merry Christmas and saluted the great harmony of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh.
Delhi Public School, Ambala
The school organised a virtual felicitation ceremony on the theme Essayer-Prayaas, a feat to defeat. It was conducted in two segments, one scholastic segment and another co-scholastic segment. The programme started with lamp lighting by Principal Amita Dhaka. A soothing Sarasvati Vandana created a Vedic aura. The school principal heartily welcomed all the respected dignitaries and parents in her speech. It was followed by a soulful welcome song sung by the students. The felicitation ceremony started with appreciation of school toppers of classes X and XII. The entire segment was seasoned with various online dance videos and performances acknowledging efforts of teachers and parents. The next segment was devoted to the achievers of the co-curricular activities conducted in the current session so far. The winners were honoured with certificates. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks.
DAV Police Public School, Panchkula
The school celebrated Christmas week. Students dressed up in Santa Claus costumes and sang carol during special assemblies. A plethora of activities like Christmas tree craft, Santa face mask making, Santa and snowman puppets making, Christmas candle making, paper snowflakes, Christmas hangings were the highlights of the sessions. Teachers emphasised on “kindness” as an important human value and imbibed the same in children by giving task of helping the needy. Meanwhile, the school also celebrated National Mathematics Day. Teachers discussed about the life of mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and his contribution to mathematics. Quiz and collage-making activities were organised on the various topics for junior section. Senior students used integrated art to create working models on various topics. An essay-writing competition was organised on “Mathematics in day today life”.
