School kids participate in online activities
No tobacco day events at Sharda Sarvhitkari school
Students of Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Sr Sec School, Sector 40 D, Chandigarh, participated online in a plethora of activities on the occasion of the World No Tobacco Day. This day is organised every year on May 31, in order to spread awareness regarding the dangers of using tobacco and its related products. The kids made thought provoking posters, slogans,presentations, poems etc on the hazards of smoking and chewing tobacco, and put forth their innovative views on the subject. The senior students made power point presentations on this subject. The Director of the school, BS Kanwar, appreciated the efforts of these children, who managed to put forth their message so clearly and colourfully.
Armed forces day celebrated at St Teresa school
The students of St. Teresa Convent School, Panchkula celebrated “Armed forces Day” to pay honour to the military members who rightly deserve, who have made exceptional sacrifices in the service days.Students shared the importance and motive of this day.
It has become a tradition to commemorate this day as a tribute to the soldiers, airmen and sailors of India. The students paid tributes to the courageous and martyred soldiers by participating in various online activities such as badge making, slogan writing and poetry recitation. Through their slogans and poems, students highlighted that Indian Army is the cause for peace in the nation.
St Joseph’s Sr Sec School, Chd
Classes VI, VII and VIII of Middle Block of St Joseph’s Sr Sec School organised webinars on ‘Physical and Mental Wellbeing of the Children during COVID Period’ and ‘Stress and Anxiety Management in Children’. Dr Megha made the parents and students realise the importance of keeping the mindset healthy to stay away from negativity as it depends upon about how we take upon the things and situations. The parents were guided about how they can create a safer and healthier environment at home which can lead to the healthy and stress free mind of the children. Dr Megha talked about many stress buster indoor games that can be played not only by children but by parents also which will prove blissful in strengthening their bond. Many exercises and yoga postures were also discussed about to shoo away anxiety and lead a day filled with stress free thoughts. The sessions were followed by the queries of the parents and students to help them understand their specific stress triggers and the solutions. Principal Monika Chawla encouraged parents, students and teachers to stay positive and stress-free to fight COVID situations.
Healthy plate activity at DPS, Chd
To bring awareness and to inculcate healthy eating habits among the children, the students of Class- l of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh participated in Healthy Plate Activity, during the online class. The children were asked to arrange for a plate. They divided that plate into four equal portions. The portions constituted cereal, pulses, vegetables and fruits of their choice. The idea was to make them understand the importance of all the components of food in our diet. The vitality of healthy and balanced food was told to them through various modules, songs and this activity.
Amity International School, Mohali
Students of Class VII of Amity International School, Mohali, participated in an English activity wherein they prepared PPT’s and Collage on ‘Types of Ships’. The students shared some unknown facts about ships and how ships add to the security and wealth of a Nation. The students enlightened everyone by sharing this information with their peers. It was an informative session which the students enjoyed thoroughly.
