Sacred Heart School, Chandigarh
The UMEED Interact Club of the school organised a Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) session on Girl Child awareness, in collaboration with the Rotary Club Chandigarh. As many as 186 girls participated in the event focusing on the health, education, safety and motivation towards the rights of girls/women. In her address, Principal Rev Sr Venita Joseph shared an inspiring message about “wings of hope and progress”, emphasising the importance of education and empowerment as transformative forces in the lives of young students. Dr Nidhi Kapoor led a captivating session titled “Serenity in Motion,” which integrated yoga and motivational storytelling to inspire participants to prioritise both physical and mental well-being. Another highlight was an interactive session by image consultants Rachna and Asmita Garg, focusing on achieving a balance between appearance and health. Students showcased superb and moving portrayal of girls suffering social injustice and the remedy required through the mime act “Goonj: Echoes of Empowerment”. They also showcased their talents in music and dance, reflecting the event’s joyous spirit. All the participants were given certificates of appreciation and sumptuous snacks. The event concluded, with the distribution of cycles and stationery to families of the economically underprivileged children of classes VI to X by Principal Sister Venita on behalf of the UMEED Interact Club.
