PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Palampur
The school celebrated its 62nd Foundation Day. The school was illuminated with beautiful lights. The celebrations began with the enthusiastic welcome of chief guest Col D Nanda and guest of honour Dr Vivek Dogra (Senior Scientist, CSIR) and Subeer Singh (Electricity Department) by NCC cadets of the vidyalaya. The programme started with the formal welcome of the chief guest by Principal Sunil Kumar. He highlighted the aim and motto of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and the role of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Palampur, in achieving the objectives of the sangathan. Students welcomed the chief guest with melodious song. Vanshika Rana of Class XI-B presented a speech on the occasion to emphasise the role of KVS in nurturing the future of students. Students presented a series of captivating cultural performances, showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India. First in the series was a mesmerising group song, “Bharat ka swarnim Gaurav”, followed by vibrant ‘Jhamakra’ of Himachal Pradesh and energetic bhangra of Punjab. Bhim Sain (PGT, History) gave insight on the history of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and its role and objectives in shaping future citizens of India. Wonderful exhibits/models on different subjects were showcased on the occasion to the guests. The chief guest congratulated all on Foundation Day. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Headmaster Manish Kumar.
