The CBSE North Zone-II Skating Championship-2024, hosted by the school, witnessed the culmination of four days of intense competition, where 3,504 young skaters from 608 CBSE schools from across the North Zone — Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana displayed their skating prowess and sportsmanship. The championship saw participation in quad, inline and road race skating in Under-9 to Under- 19 age categories. Skaters of OPS Vidya Mandir shined throughout the championship. Naazpreet of Class IX clinched two gold medals, Parth of Class XII (Commerce) grabbed silver medal and bronze Medal. Manit of Class IX grabbed silver medal and bronze medal. Vanshika of Class X clinched bronze and Riya of Class XI grabbed silver medal. All the first and second position holders have qualified for the National Skating Championship to be held in October in Karnataka. Academic Director Esha Bansal applauded the participants for their remarkable efforts and highlighted the importance of sports in holistic development of a child.
