Students of the school embarked on an educational tour to observe the session of the Legislative Assembly in Chandigarh. The visit was organised to enhance students’ knowledge and provide them with a closer understanding of the parliamentary process. Speaker of the Assembly Harendra Kalyan welcomed the students and teachers from the school. Addressing the students, he emphasised that such visits play a crucial role in their intellectual development and in fostering a deeper understanding of Indian democracy. A group of approximately 40 students from classes VI to X, accompanied by teachers Surendra Kumar, Dheeraj, Pooja Pasrija, and Sonika, participated in the tour. Upon reaching the Legislative Assembly premises, students were first briefed about the history, operations, and role of the Assembly. Following this, they observed the proceedings of the session closely. During the session, students got the opportunity to understand the parliamentary system through questions, debates, and discussions on Bills presented by legislators. Speaker Harendra Kalyan interacted with students and answered their queries. As part of the tour, the students also visited the library and museum of the Legislative Assembly.
