Major Ajaib Singh Convent School, Jeonwala

Paying tribute to Param Vir Chakra (PVC) awardee Subedar Joginder Singh, the school organised a special rally on his birth anniversary. The event was held under the leadership of Col CS Sharma (13 Punjab Battalion, NCC,Ferozepur), with enthusiastic participation from the school’s NCC cadets and caretakers. The rally commenced from their native village Mahla Kalan of Subedar Joginder Singh, and went through the streets of the village, carrying flags, banners, and posters depicting the heroic journey of Subedar Joginder Singh. Cadets paid homage to the decorated war hero, who laid down his life in the 1962 Indo-Pak war during the Battle of Bum La. The celebration included a speech by Hawaldar Jagdish Singh on Subedar Joginder Singh’s life and contributions to the nation. The NCC cadets, along with school officials, Gurbachan Singh (brother of Subedar Joginder Singh), sarpanch Naginder Singh, Inspector Nirmal Singh (BSF), club president Sarabjeet Singh and panchayat members, paid floral tributes at his statue. Principal/Director Dr SS Brar expressed immense pride in organising the event.
