Ludhiana schools remember Father of the Nation
DAV Public School
An event to mark Gandhi Jayanti was organised at DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, on Thursday. Students and teachers gathered virtually to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with patriotic fervour. To imbibe the true meaning of the day and follow glorious trails of the noble soul towards evolving a peaceful and prosperous world, a special interactive e-session was held by the teachers. The students paid a creative homage to Gandhiji by making posters, writing slogans, maintaining cleanliness in and around their house and showcasing the importance of saving water and the environment and eating healthy diet in life. Beautiful charkha replicas made by students was lauded by all. The students paid special tributes to the Father of the Nation through their inspiring write-ups on the significance of Khadi in life.
Millennium World School
Millennium World School, Ludhiana, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in a special assembly on Thursday to pay homage to the Father of the Nation. The programme started with the chanting of bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav’ which was Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite song. Students delivered speeches on his life and principles. Many of them made posters on his life and his contribution to the freedom struggle of the country. Informative videos were also shown to the students. A quiz on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was also held.
MGM Public School
Students were given an activity to form a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and to pay tributes to him. They recited Mahatma’s favourite bhajans. Principal of the school Sunita Vij told the students to follow the footsteps of Gandhiji and to be self-reliant like him. She encouraged them to spread the message of cleanliness.
Ryan International School
Students and teachers of Ryan International School, Dugri, conducted a virtual special assembly to commemorate life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. All students participated in various activities. Special speeches comprising his quotes and messages given by class teachers attracted the attention of all. Gandhian ideals were depicted through the activities which the students presented in an eloquent manner. Inspired with Gandhian values and thoughts, they vowed to become better citizens.
