The school presented its second theatre production “The Sound of Music — The Musical” at Tagore Theatre when it celebrated its Annual Function on the stage, amid huge applause from the mesmerised audience which comprised of parents, members of management and Tricity school principals of sister concerns. The huge appreciation from the captivated audience was a proof of the acknowledgement of the efforts of the children from Class V to XII and a team of dedicated teachers and their mentors. TC Nautiyal, Director, Environment and Chief Conservator of Forest, UT Administration, Chandigarh, presided over the function. Principal Pooja Prakash welcomed chief guest TC Nautiyal, guest of honour HR Gandhar and other dignitaries in her opening speech. She threw light on the current outstanding achievement wherein 58 sportspersons have won medals in archery, badminton, karate, lawn tennis, netball, roller skating, shooting, taekwondo, weightlifting and wrestling. The play, which is the second theatre production of the school, reasserted that our “Dreams are to be lived and believed in”. Yasvee as Maria, Daksh as Von Trapp, Aarav as Maxmillian stole the show. The Choir and Von Trapp children tugged at the heart strings of all. A kathak performance depicted the power of ‘Om, ‘reverberated in the hall. Gidda showcased the folk scene of the bride and her family and the fun that follows with Punjabi ‘bolis’. The girls of Class VII to XI set the audience dancing to the beats. HR Gandhar, vice-president, DAV CMC, appreciated the efforts of the school for their immense hard work that was all the more visible in each performance put up on the stage.
