A session on Green Diwali was conducted by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, at the school for nearly 1,200 students from classes III to VII. The celebration of Diwali, ‘Festa Das Luzes’ came alive when the secondary block wore a festive look with diyas and lanterns in bright colours. Many competitions were held on the occasion. ‘A Door Hanging Bandhawar’ Competition was the highlight of the celebrations. A ‘traditional Diwali photo booth’ with prop-making competition took place for the same class in which the learners brought an artistic blend of recycled material to create the most attractive booth designs ever. Students of Class IX donned their ‘chef caps’ to exhibit their culinary skills in ‘Decoding Delicious Indigenous Delights’ – A Culinary Competition. The students of Class X took an initiative and took out a rally to create awareness among the students to discourage the purchase of Chinese products on Diwali, boycott the bursting the crackers and suggest them the way outs to celebrate the festival with a difference this year.
