The Dev Raj Memorial Invitational Basketball Tournament started at the school. It is played in the memory of the father of school president Neena Setya. The host team started the tournament with a win on the first day. 16 teams are participating in it and the matches will continue for three days. Tejdeep Singh Saini, Joint Secretary, Government of Punjab, inaugurated the tournament. Chandigarh Basketball Association president Anil Mehta, Chandigarh Olympic Association secretary NS Thakur along with school president Neena Setya, MD Parveen Setya and Director Devraj Setya were present. On the first day, host Gurukul Global School registered a big win in the boys’ category by defeating Guru Harkrishan School, Hanumangarh. St John’s High School defeated Learning Paths School, Mohali, by 42-39. In two other matches, SD School-32 defeated Tender Heart School by 42-27 and New Public School defeated Shamrock School, Kaithal, by of 54-40. In the girls’ category, the first victory was won by Saupin’s School. They defeated Saraswati School, Ganganagar, by 40-6. In the second match, Sacred Heart School defeated Government School, Nandgarh, by 50-26. In the third match, New Public School defeated Gurukul Global School by 29-06 and Learning Paths School defeated Tribune Model School by 30-11.
