Delhi Public School, Chandigarh
The school hosted the Annual Inter-DPS Environment Festival — El Entorno — under the aegis of the DPS Society. More than 200 students from 18 Delhi Public Schools from across the country competed against each other in multiple, highly challenging online and onsite events. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director at the Delhi Public School Society, inaugurated the two-day festival. On the second day, V Neeraja, ADGP, Cyber Crime, Punjab, was the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Simer Singh Negi, member, Board of Management, Delhi Public School, Chandigarh. The festival is an endeavour to give students a platform to convey a strong message of environment protection and sustainability. The online events included documentary making, photography and e-sculpt, best out of e-waste art challenge among others to test the consciousness and understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals. In the second category of onsite events, DPS, Chandigarh, witnessed the confluence of creativity and ingenuity in events like Canvas to Cause (Folk Art Expression), Solutions Spectrum (Evaluating Perspectives), Nature’s Marionettes (Puppetry Tales), Planet Innovate (Integrating Tech and Nature Exhibition) and Elegancia Elemental (Fashion Show). Principal Reema Dewan congratulated the participants for presenting the best solutions to such varied environmental issues that the whole purpose of the fest achieved its full reward. The event ended with an invigorating valedictory function with DPS, Faridabad, bagging the overall trophy.
