Diwali was celebrated in the school by the student members of the Eco Sampada Club. The celebrations started with the recitation of religious bhajans and dances. Students of pre-nursery to Class XII gave a spectacular stage performance comprising of a medley of activities symbolising festive spirit of Diwali, like skits, speeches and poems. The students enthusiastically participated in a quiz on Indian mythology. NSS volunteers and student members of the Eco Sampada Club took out an anti-cracker rally highlighting the need to celebrate green Diwali. Principal Anuja Sharma blessed the students amidst the melodious echoing chants of “Bharat Mata ki jai”. A ‘havan’ to commemorate Nirvan Diwas of Maharishi Dayanand was organised, in which the children were enlightened about the importance and piety of the day. The principal, students and teachers took a pledge to promote green Diwali celebrations by avoiding harmful effects of crackers and poisonous chemicals emitted from the crackers.
