The school marked its 25th anniversary with a grand celebration. The milestone event, held at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula featured a series of performances by students. The chief guests at the event were Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board (PWSS) Chairman Sunny Ahluwalia. Students dazzled the audience with their talent, delivering performances that ranged from traditional dances and patriotic drama to social issues like child labour, save girl child and mobile addiction. A multimedia presentation, showcasing the school’s journey and evolution took the audience down memory lane.

Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh

The school, in association with Yuvsatta, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), organised a session for its students, promoting love for animals on the school premises. The NGO’s founder and coordinator, Pramod Sharma, as well as Haylee Blake and Jacqueline Kelleher from the United Nations were welcomed by the students. The session was packed with wisdom and fun-filled activities, emphasising the need to cultivate kindness and compassion towards animals.

Sacred Heart Sr Sec School, Chandigarh

The school organised the ‘Greenathon: Run for sustainability’ event at Sukhna Lake on the theme ‘Insieme” (stronger together). The event brought together students, alumni and parents to celebrate the community spirit and environmental stewardship. The participants took a united effort to display camaraderie while promoting sustainability during the event, which witnessed various events, including 50m race, hoopla games and arm wrestling.

Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh

The school celebrated the birth anniversary of Mother Veronica — a pioneer of women’s education in India. The celebration culminated in a fund-raising activity organised by the Carmelites for girls’ education. Addressing the gathering, principal Sister Sefali Parmar encouraged students to be a source of hope and support for the needy.

Guru Nanak Khalsa School, Chandigarh

The school organised a blood donation camp during the parent-teacher meeting on Monday. School chairman Charanjit Singh Channa and manager Amritpal Singh Julka attended the event. All blood donors were given refreshment and certificates by the school.

Saint Soldier Intl School, Chd

The school marked Dasehra celebrations with a vibrant stage presentation by the students of Class VII. The highlight of the show was a musical rendition of the Ramayana, portrayed by Yug and Aarav, who engaged the audience with their storytelling. A concluding dance illustrated Lord Rama’s virtues, emphasising bravery and duty. Various activities like poster-making and paragraph writing were also conducted.

The Tribune School, Chandigarh

A special assembly was held at the school to mark the occasion of Durga Navami and Dasehra. The programme highlighted the importance of celebrating the festival and worshiping Goddess Durga. A quiz on Ramayana was conducted. Dhawal Tiwari, a student of Class IX, expressed his views on high ideals, while Kavya Gupta of Class IV captivated the audience with a self-composed poem. Students of Class 4 also performed a dance, adding to the festive spirit.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

The school hosted an event to mark Grandparents’ at for the primary section. The festivities kicked off with a tilak ceremony. The little Bhavanites performed heartfelt songs and captivating dance performances for their grandparents, who joined in on the fun by participating in games.

GMSSS, Mani Majra

The school organised the cluster-level ‘Kala Utsav (2024-25)’, a flagship programme of the department of School Education and literacy, Ministry of Education. The event featured performances by students of classes IX to XII from cluster schools of Cluster No. 19. There was an array of vocal/instrumental music, dance, theatre, visual arts and traditional story telling performances. Around 50 students from cluster schools participated in the event. A valedictory function was also held and the winners were given certificates and trophies. Principal Monika Puri congratulated all the winners.

HANSRAJ PUBLIC SCHOOL, Panchkula

The primary wing of the school celebrated Dasehra with enthusiasm. The students delivered speeches, recited poems and performed a short play that showcased the values associated with the Indian culture and heritage.

ST XAVIER’S, PANCHKULA

To mark the victory of good over evil, Dasehra was celebrated with fervour at the junior wing of the school. A special assembly was conducted to explain the significance of the day. It emphasised the path of evil only led to misfortunes. An effigy of Ravana was burnt. Headmistress Cynthia Shear extended her warm greetings to everyone.
