Shri Ram Ashram Public School

Amritsar: Shri Ram Ashram Public School, The Mall, Amritsar celebrated its 25th silver jubilee and Children’s Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. The commemoration of the day commenced by invoking the heavenly blessings with ‘Ram Stuti’ and ‘Hanuman Chalisa’, chanted by the entire school. These were followed by ‘gayatri hawan’, which was attended by principal Vinodita Sankhyan, staff and students of Classes IX and X, praying for the prosperity and wellbeing of all. As part of the celebrations, the students of Classes V, IX, X and XI organised a fete, featuring exciting game counters, face painting and a variety of eatables, exclusively for the students of the pre-primary wing. A collage presentation showcased the school's 25-year journey, highlighting its milestones and achievements on the occasion of its 25th foundation day. The students paid their reverential tribute to the founding father of the school, Sunder Singh. The tiny tots of pre-primary exhibited their creativity through a wall-decoration activity, displaying their colourful artwork.

Stalwarts World School

Amritsar: Stalwarts World School celebrated the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak jayanti with great enthusiasm. The event commenced with the recitation of ‘Chaupai Sahib’, which was attended by all students. The programme featured ‘shabad’ and ‘kirtan’ performances, along with inspiring anecdotes from the life of Guru Nanak, shared by students. They highlighted Guru Nanak’s message of dispelling inner darkness by eradicating one's vices, a message that gives Nanak Jayanti its alternate name, the ‘Festival of Lights’. Principal Manisha Dhanuka encouraged the children to learn from Guru Nanak, emphasising that following the principles of the Gurus was the true path to a blessed life. Teachers, dressed in traditional attire, participated in the event to express their respect and devotion. At the end of the celebration, ‘karah prasad’ was distributed among all students.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan

Amritsar: Infosys Foundation, Bengaluru, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Amritsar, organised HEMANTA — a week-long cultural festival. On the first day, sufi songs by Robin Wadali and dances by amateur artists were presented on the stage in the programme. Rtn Arun Kapur, Rtn GS Bawa and Rtn Barjesh Singhal (2018-19) graced the occasion as guests of honour. Nagalakshmi K Rao, joint director of BVB-Bengaluru, also marked her presence in the event. Chairman Avinash Mohindru, director Anita Bhalla, principal Sonia Sehdev and other members of school management welcomed the guests and gave them bouquet and pleasantries as a token of respect. The event began with pious lamp lighting. Vinod Sharma, Bhavans Kala Kendra coordinator made the audience familiar with the spiritual absoluteness of the sufi music. The programme began by Robin Wadali and his team presenting the famous sufi song, 'Murshid Da Didaar'.
