Panchkula: Shishu Niketan School, MDC, Sector 5, celebrated its annual day titled — SPECTRUM-2024 — at Indradhanush Auditorium amidst great fervour. Satpal Kaushik, DEO, Panchkula, was the chief guest on the occasion. Seema Chopra, President, Shishu Niketan Panchkula Society, was the guest of honour. Principal Anupam Bhardwaj welcomed guests and the gathering and shared school’s achievements through the annual report of the past session. Panchkula: The Gurukul, Sector 20, hosted an online interaction of students of Grades IX to XII with gallantry award recipient Lt-Col Amanpreet Singh Legha (Retd) of the 27 Assam Rifles. Lt-Col Legha, who led a daring operation in the Kohima district against a group of insurgents, shared vivid details of the mission in which his quick and decisive thinking cut off the insurgents’ escape route, resulting in the elimination of eight of them and seizure of their ammunition. For his extraordinary valour, he was awarded the prestigious Shaurya Chakra. During interaction, Lt-Col Legha also spoke about the values of leadership, resilience and responsibility in the face of adversity. TNS
