Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today said there is complete anarchy under the state government, with the latest addition of samosa-cake incident making mockery of the police force.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Thakur said under the Congress regime, the situation was going from bad to worse. “Consuming samosas and cake brought for the Chief Minister by some police personnel is now being labelled as an anti-government act, which is so shameful. Nothing can be more disgraceful and laughable as an inquiry is being held so to ascertain how this happened,” he said.

“The police and the government has no time to tackle serious issues related to corruption that involve politicians and officers. However, in matter pertaining to the cake-samosa incident, they have time to conduct an investigation and seek a report,” he said, adding that nothing could be more distasteful and shameful than this.

Thakur said, “Whether it is the question of imposing toilet tax, enhancing freights in government buses and ending all vacant spots, the government is on a weak footing,” he said.

He lamented that the case of a lady police officer being humiliated and made to leave her place of posting overnight had come to light. He added that she had been performing her duties diligently.

Thakur said Himachal was known across country as a state where decisions were well thought and taken after due deliberations but now, the state had become laughing stock due to the flip flop by the present government on key issues.
