Salute to Kargil Heroes

St Xavier’s International School, Patiala

To honour Kargil heroes, who sacrificed their lives for their motherland on 26 July,1999, the school celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas. A special morning assembly was organised. It started with the welcome speech by English teacher Manpreet. Principal Neha Kashyap lighted the auspicious lamp to pay tribute to our martyrs. This was followed by a soulful song sung by the music teacher which filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. Later, the Principal explained the importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration to the students. Chairman BS Dhaliwal and Director Gurpreet Kaur Dhaliwal appreciated the efforts of students and the staff.

Aanchal International School, Chd

The school organised a small celebration online to make children aware of the sacrifices made by our war heroes. Students were shown a power point presentation of the ‘Tiger hill’. Later, children prepared small art and craft things related to our country using Tri-coloured papers. It was a day to remember all the real heroes of our lives and thank them and their families who always put their country before anything else.

The British School, Panchkula

Students and the staff members remembered the Kargil martyrs and celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate the victory of Operation Vijay. The students were apprised of the information about how the day is celebrated to mark India’s victory against Pakistan in the 1999 war. Students were encouraged to safeguard the honour of the nation. Staff members also planted a sapling on the school premises to mark the day.

Amity International School, Mohali

The school hosted a special assembly to pay tribute to the valiant heroes of Kargil. The Primary Wing students honoured the heroes with their heartfelt speeches and songs. The little Amitians remembered the exemplary courage of the brave soldiers. The seniors too, presented a special assembly in a well-coordinated manner which proved to be absolute success in conveying its aim to inculcate the feelings of patriotism and acknowledging the sacrifice of the soldiers. A presentation on the sacrifices of these heroes by the students made the event informative and enlightening, which was also followed by inspirational and emotional poem and videos of the war. Principal Urvashi Kakkar appreciated the initiative and efforts of the students.

KB DAV Sr Sec Public School, Chandigarh

To remember our martyrs by revisiting their sacrifices, students celebrated Vijay Kargil Diwas via virtual mode. The aim of these celebrations was to spread the message that it is the duty of each one of us to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. Students of classes III to VII, who were dressed as soldiers, highlighted the achievements of Indian soldiers. A plethora of activities like face painting, poster making, card making, role play; etc were conducted. The presentation by teachers made the event informative and enlightening.
