The municipal corporation (MC) along with the police removed encroachments from Sakatri Bagh and the Putlighar area here today. A family had constructed a temporary tent house on 200 square yards in Sakatri Bagh and was drawing electricity from a nearby pole. The house had all goods.

MC Estate Officer Dharminderjit Singh received a complaint in this regard. A team of the estate wing along with Rakesh Kumar from the C Division police station visited Sakatri Bagh today. The team removed the tent house and goods from the spot and took possession of the land. Household goods of occupants were seized by the MC. Encroachers were warned not to occupy the government land in future.

The civic body team also removed encroachments in the Putlighar area. The team confiscated goods of shopkeepers which they had displayed on the government land. The team warned shopkeepers that FIRs would be registered against them if they encroached upon the government land.

Estate Officer Dharminderjit Singh was accompanied by superintendent Rajkumar and junior assistants Arun Sahapal and Manoj Kumar during the anti-encroachment drive.
