SAD to observe 100th birth anniv of Tohra

Senior Akali Dal leadership has decided to observe 100th birth anniversary of Panth Ratan Gurcharan Singh Tohra on September 22 at large scale.

Addressing the party workers, SAD working president Balwinder Singh Bhunder said, “Conspiracies are afoot to finish off Akali Dal politically, but all such plots will fail.” Though the occurrence of sacrilege incidents during the Akali Dal government was most unfortunate, the Opposition politicised these incidents to defame the SAD, he said.

Lashing out at so called Panthic leaders, Bhunder questioned why they were silent on recent sacrilege incidents, including intrusion by a man at Darbar Sahib, entrance of the police in uniform and firing at a gurdwara in Sultanpur Lodhi. “These leaders never opened their mouth before. Those in Sudhar Lehar are hell-bent on defaming the Akali Dal,” he stated.
