Rural police seize 6.5 kg heroin in four separate cases
Amritsar rural police have seized a total of 6.5 kg of heroin across four separate cases. Additionally, the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a drone and seized 3 kg of heroin near Mullakot border village late last night.
According to Amritsar rural police chief Charanjit Singh, Gurbhej Singh of Kakkar Kalan village was arrested with 3 kg of heroin after intelligence reports indicated his involvement in drug trafficking. He had recently received a consignment of drugs, which he intended to deliver to an unidentified accomplice. The police intercepted him on the Chak Allah Baksh-Rania border village road.
In another operation, Lopoke police arrested Malkeet Singh of Bachiwid and Baljinder Singh alias Tota of Makhanpura village, and seized 2 kg of heroin from their possession. They were apprehended near Dhaliwal village drain.
Gharinda police recovered 1.498 kg of heroin from the residence of Jagroop Singh, who remains at large. The SSP said raids were ongoing to apprehend Jagroop Singh.
Additionally, Ramdas police recovered a .32-bore revolver from Franko Masih and Arsh Masih, both residents of Kuralia village.
Both Baljinder Singh and Gurbhej Singh have prior NDPS cases registered against them in Ropar and Mohali's Special Task Force, respectively. Franko Masih also has a theft-related FIR registered against him.
