Rs 2,100 a month to women — BJP unveils 5 pledges for Jharkhand poll
Financial assistance of Rs 2,100 a month to all women under a new scheme and Rs 2,000 monthly aid for two years to graduates and postgraduates preparing for competitive exams are part of the five poll promises BJP Jharkhand released on Saturday.
The “panch pran” (five pledges) were unveiled in Ranchi today by BJP Jharkhand chief Babulal Marandi. Also present were BJP election in-charge for the state Shivraj Singh Chouhan, co in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Annapurna Devi.
The five promises also include free LPG cylinder worth Rs 500 a month to all households, plus two additional free cylinders per year on the occasion of two festivals; five lakh jobs to the unemployed over five years and recruitments against 2,87,000 vacant government posts.
The party will unveil 25 more points of its manifesto underlining 25 years of Jharkhand’s formation and additionally a 150-point document to mark the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader and freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
