During a special election campaign drive, Sirsa police seized Rs 2.19 lakh from a car near the Bypass Bridge on Barnala Road last night. The cash was found in the vehicle of Ankur, a resident of the Old Housing Board Colony in Sirsa. The seizure took place in the presence of a Duty Magistrate. According to Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan, the CIA Sirsa team was checking vehicles at the Bypass Bridge when they stopped Ankur’s car. On inspection, the police found the cash hidden in the vehicle. Ankur could not provide a satisfactory explanation for the large sum of money.
