The DC said the maiden week long carnival would also be organised in Androuli from December 25 to December 31 between Christmas and the New Year’s eve. Besides water sports and cultural programmes, visitors would also be able to enjoy candle camping on the banks of the lake, he said, adding that the local food would also be made available to them.

Androuli is being developed as a water sports facility after necessary no objection certificates were received from the Bhakra Beas Management Board. The development of the tourist complex is being done by the Kutlehar Tourism Development Society, chaired by the DC.

Some basic infrastructure such as angling hut, interpretation centre and a jetty has already been set up. Adventure water sports have already been demonstrated in the waters by experts and the procurement of equipment was being awaited to make the facility functional.
