Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, has secured the 12th position in the country in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) ranking given by Education Post that has evaluated around 750 medical colleges of the country.

Sixth rank in north

  • The PGIMS Director, Dr SS Lohchab, said the institution had secured the sixth rank among the medical colleges of North India, which included prestigious institutes such as AIIMS (New Delhi), PGIMER (Chandigarh), KGMU (Lucknow), SGPGI (Lucknow) and BHU (Varanasi).

The PGIMS Director, Dr SS Lohchab, said the institution has secured the sixth rank among the medical colleges of North India, which includes prestigious institutes such as AIIMS (New Delhi), PGIMER (Chandigarh), KGMU (Lucknow), SGPGI (Lucknow) and BHU (Varanasi).

The Director attributed the success to the support of the state authorities and guidance of Prof (Dr) Anita Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, Pt Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak.

The PGIMS Dean, Dr Kuldeep Singh Laller, said the institute was emerging as the preferred destination due to the IIRF ranking as a number of candidates, with high-ranking NEET scores, were opting for MBBS, MD/MS and MCh/DM courses at PGIMS, Rohtak.

Dr Neeti Mittal, Professor and Nodal Officer, Department of Pharmacology, said IIRF, an independent ranking system managed by Education Post, evaluates and ranks educational institutions across various fields, including management, engineering, medical, law and architecture etc.

“IIRF ranking is based on several key performance indicators with a special focus on industry interface, employability and practical training,” she added.
