The state committee of the Haryana Roadways Workers Union (affiliated to Sarv Karamchari Sangh) today met here to discuss their pending demands and to chalk out future plans to get them fulfilled.

Speaking on the occasion, Dinod said all their demands were justified and they were hopeful that the government would accept them keeping in view the employees’ interest.

“The demands include revision of pay scale of clerks, drivers, conductors and other employees, regularisation of services of all employees appointed by the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam, permanent recruitment and promotion on vacant posts in Transport Department, restoration of old system for leaves by stopping the deduction in earned leave, holidays should be given on the basis of government calendar, restoration of old-pension scheme, provision of risk allowance and technical pay scale, payment of due bonus etc,” said Dinod.

He said that it was also decided at the meeting that an annual membership campaign would be conducted at all depots and sub-depots of the Haryana Roadways in November and a depot-level convention of employees would be conducted at all depots across the state.

Siwach said after the formation of the new government, the Roadways employees expect the Chief Minister and the Transport Minister to resolve all issues of the employees on priority by initiating dialogues with representatives of the union.

He demanded that the government should withdraw the policy of giving route permits to 3,658 private buses on 362 routes as the employees, public, gram panchayats and students had been persistently demanding the government buses to be plied in rural areas.

“Instead of issuing permits to private buses, 10,000 government buses should be included in the fleet in view of the rising demand so as to provide better and safer transport services to the public. By this way, 60,000 unemployed people can get permanent employment,” Siwach added.

Those present at the meeting included Shiv kumar Sheoran, Ramesh Sheokand, Sushil Ikkas, Jai kunwar Dahiya, Pawan Sharma, Mahipal, Praveen Yadav, Narendra Sanga, Virendra Chandrabhan, Prithvi Singh Chahar, Satbir Mundhal, Jaiveer Talu, Surendra Palwa and Jitendra Dagar.
