Roads in a pathetic condition
The condition of roads in our village Kadipur is pathetic. It has several deep potholes which are perennially filled with water. These are not just risk to motorists but also breeding ground for mosquitoes. The situation worsens during monsoons and many people get injured. Repeated pleas to the civic agencies have gone unheard. Karan Singh, Gurugram
Quality of work must be checked
The authorities must check the quality of work done by contractors, be it the construction of roads, drain or laying of a pipeline. Work of storm water project is being executed in Ambala Cantonment but the quality of work at several locations is questionable. Due to the faulty work done by contractors and no attention paid by the official concerned, it is the local people who are inconvenienced. The work should also be expedited.

Encroachments in old vegetable market
Iwould like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the illegal encroachments of public property in the old vegetable market. The road has become narrower due to the extension of shops onto the pavement by shopkeepers. Vendors put up their stalls on the pavement and on the side of the road, thus making it impossible for pedestrians and two-wheelers to move on the road. I request the authorities concerned to take action against the defaulters and free the market place and road of the regular traffic jams.
