The Forest Department had recently planted many types of tree saplings from Raison to Kalath on the sides of the Kullu-Manali National Highway, spending lakhs of rupees. However, a private telecom company has damaged many of these while using a JCB machine to dig the road for laying cables. The company should make sure that the damages are compensated for, and should carry out afforestation for the damages caused. Also, the digging work has raised a lot of dust in the area, and steps should be taken to minimise this.

Rs 5 envelopes are not available in several post offices of the district, including Bhuntar, Mohal and Akhara Bazar. Post office employees cite non-availability, and claim that a request for the stamps had been sent. Due to this, people have been facing a lot of difficulties. The Postal Department should solve this problem at the earliest.
