New Delhi, July 9

Various Right-wing groups on Tuesday held a protest meeting against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s recent “not Hindus” remark in the Lok Sabha. The protest meet was organised at the Constitution Club here under the banner of Sarva Hindu Samaj.

This event, named Hindu Shakti Sangam, saw the participation of many Hindu seers. The gathering included prominent leaders such as Kapil Khanna (VHP), Surendra Gupta (VHP), Swami Jitendranand Saraswati Maharaj, Rahul Bhante (Saint), Surendra Avdhoot (Kalka Ji Temple), Dr Charu Kalra (Women’s Coordination), Sadhvi Deepti (Jain Society), Jagjit Singh Goldy (Bajrang Dal) and Ravi Dev Gupta (Arya Samaj). These leaders represented various sections of the Hindu community.

Addressing the gathering, Swami Jitendranand asserted, “In Gujarat, a statement was made that they defeated the Ram Temple movement in Ayodhya. Let me tell you, neither your father nor you have the capacity to defeat us. You may have won Faizabad, but Ayodhya is ours, was ours, and will remain ours. We will also take Kashi and Mathura before your eyes. This is our resolve.”

The event began with Vedic chanting and included speeches from various leaders. Khanna, president of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Delhi, emphasised the ongoing challenges faced by the Hindu community, saying, “When we (the Hindu society) go to celebrate festivals or hold processions, we are surrounded and attacked from all sides.”

Jain saint Deepti highlighted the unity within the Hindu community, stating, “We are Hindus first and Jains later.”

Valmiki Panchayat president Chaudhary criticised historical injustices and praised recent actions by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “The Muslim king who built the Taj Mahal cut off the hands of Hindu artisans, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi washed the feet of the artisans building the temple.”

Gupta called for a discussion on societal issues, noting, “We should also discuss the weakening immunity of society.”
