Restrictions on PU campus for VP’s visit

Panjab University authorities have announced imposition of several measures on campus during of visit of Vice President of India and university Chancellor Jagdeep Dhankar on March 7 for the 71th annual convocation.
The convocation is slated to be held at the university’s gymnasium hall. As per a circular, the route from Gate No. 1 via Administrative Block, Chemistry Department and Physics Department till the gymnasium hall will be a no vehicle zone.
This route will be closed for the public from 1pm to 7pm and no vehicle will be allowed to be parked on this route road on March 6 and 7. Meanwhile, all residents/visitors at the university have been asked not to park their vehicles on the road side on the campus on March 6 and 7.
The Gate No. 1 will remain open for entry and exit from 6am to 1pm and after 7pm. The Gate No. 2 will remain open for entry and exit throughout for the VIPs, guest invitees and faculty, the circular stated.
It further added that the Gate No. 3 would remain open for entry and exit from 6am to 10pm for students and campus residents.
