Report sought from Rohtak DC on Cong’s complaint against Manish Kumar Grover
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Haryana has sought a report from Rohtak Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ajay Kumar on a complaint against former Haryana minister and BJP candidate from Rohtak Assembly constituency Manish Kumar Grover.
The matter pertains to a defamatory speech allegedly delivered by Grover against Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra, who is contesting against Grover.
In the said complaint, Supreme Court lawyer Karan Singh Narang, who is a legal coordinator of the Congress at Rohtak, has sought an investigation into the matter and necessary action against Grover.
The complainant has attached three video clips to substantiate the charges levelled against the BJP leader.
It may be pertinent to mention that a complaint was lodged against Grover on behalf of the Congress earlier as well, in which he was accused of threatening the Rohtak Superintendent of Police.
The CEO of Haryana had sought a report from the Rohtak Deputy Commissioner then as well.
However, action taken on that complaint is yet to
be known.
“I had asked the Rohtak Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer about the action taken on my earlier complaint regarding Grover threatening the SP, but I was told to file an RTI application to know that,” said Narang.
The Congress counsel maintained that they would take the legal recourse to get Grover’s nomination cancelled if the local administration fails to take any concrete action on their complaint(s).
