Repeated snag in CT scan machine troubles patients

Remaining out of order for two consecutive days, the CT scan machine at Rajendra Prasad Medical College Hospital in Tanda was repaired temporarily, giving a sigh of relief to the patients coming from far-off areas. However, in the last two days, the patients with one-month appointment returned disappointed.

Dr Milap Sharma, Principal, Tanda Medical College, while talking to The Tribune said, “The CT scan machine had developed a mechanical defect. The hospital authorities have taken up the matter and in all probability, another machine needs to be installed looking at the heavy load of work and making the service reliable.”

The CT scan machine in the state’s second largest hospital, Tanda, suddenly developed a snag. It was repaired a few days ago as well, but the machine is repeatedly breaking down, causing a lot of inconvenience to the patients coming from far-off places. A majority of these are patients who had booked their slot of over a month.

Patients said they had booked the date for the CT scan test a month ago. When they reached the Tanda hospital, they were told that the machine was not working. The patients are facing a lot of difficulty due to the machine breaking down repeatedly. Meanwhile, sources said the hospital authorities had ordered for parts which were yet to reach here.
