Religious programme organised in remembrance of Sahibzadas and mother of Guru Gobind Singh
Tarn Taran: Dasmesh Parivar International School, Aima Kalan, organised a religious programme dedicated to the martyrdom of the family of tenth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh. The students presented poems, lectures, one act play and other items to putting light on the sacrifices and the struggle of Mata Gujri, four Sahibzadas (four sons of Guru Gobind Singh) and Guru Gobind Singh himself and the sangat. Baba Gurbachan Singh Khalsa parton and Jaswant Singh Khalsa, Chairman of the school managing committee explained in detail how Guru Gobind Singh, Mata Gujri, four Sahibzadas and the sangat with the warriors (brave followers) left quila Sri Anandpur Sahib on the assurance of the Mughals that they would not attack on them while leaving the quila. Guru Sahib and others had left the quila but the Mughals army attacked on the Guru Sahib and the sangat. Guru Gobind Singh, elder (vadde) Sahibzadas with other warriors sacrificed their lives in the fight at Chamkaur Di Garhi. Mata Gujri and younger Sahibzadas were arrested by the Mughals and were buried alive in the walls and Mata Gujri breathed her last in the Thanda Burj (iced burj).

B.Ed Semester (II) theory exams put off
Guru Nanak Dev University postponed the theory examinations of B Ed Semester (II) being held from January 3 to January 17. The new dates of examinations will be announced later, said Prof Dr Manoj Kumar, Professor Incharge Examinations. The revised date sheet will be uploaded on the university website. GNDU to host sports events
GNDU will host the All India Inter-University Fencing (M&W) Championship from January 7 to 10, 2022, Selection trails of the World University Fencing (M&W) will be held from from January 11 to 12, 2022 and that of North Zone Inter-University Hockey (M) from January 14 to 19, 2022. Dr Sukhdev Singh, Director, Sports, said more than 60 (M&W) teams comprising about 500 players from different Universities of all over the country will participate in these championships.
Martyrdom fortnight celebrated
CKD held several religious and cultural events at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Bhagat Wala, to mark the Martyrdom Fortnight dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh and his four Sahibzadas.
