REGION IN PARLIAMENT: Achievements of rural, urban schools on par
The National Achievement Surveys (NAS) conducted in 2017 and 2021 have not shown any significant difference in the level of achievements between urban and rural schools, said MoS for Education Jayant Chaudhary on Monday. He was responding to a question on ‘poor standard of education’ in rural schools by Charanjit Singh Channi and Dharmendra Yadav.
Studying abroad an individual choice: MoS
Studying abroad is a matter of individual choice, said MoS Sukanta Majumdar in reply to a question by Harsimrat Kaur Badal on steps taken to address the financial outflow of $70 billion by Indian students studying abroad by 2025. The Centre approved the National Education Policy-2020 to transform the quality of education in the country, the reply added.
US panel on religious freedom has no credibility
The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has a political agenda and absolutely no credibility, said Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju in reply to a question by MP Satnam Singh Sandhu. The organisation has a history of misrepresenting facts and peddling motivated narrative about India, the reply added.
Rs 90 cr for NH connectivity with IMC, Rajpura
Under the ‘Scheme for Special Assistance’, the Centre has released Rs 90 crore for the construction of the 5.6-km-long and 45-m-wide approach road from NH-44 to the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Rajpura. Notably, not a penny has been released out of the approved Rs 385 crore for 2023-2024.
