Ranji Trophy; Gujarat 86/2 against Chandigarh lads

After a delayed start owing to poor light for the second consecutive day, the Gujarat lads posted 86/2 against hosts Chandigarh, as only 26 overs were bowled during the Ranji Trophy match at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium.
Poor light forced a delayed start today. After winning toss, Chandigarh skipper Manan Vohra opted to field. Gujarat openers PK Panchal and Urvil Patel couldn’t gave a solid start to the team, as the duo only raised 10 runs for the opening wicket.
Panchal was caught by Gaurav Puri off Jagjit Singh Sandhu for 5. Sunpreet Bagga then joined Patel (14), but the latter became Sandhu’s second victim in the 7th over of the match. Bagga and MA Hingrajia, thereafter, took the charge and ensured no further loss, till the drawn of the stumps.
Bagga (39) and MA Hingrajia (26) came up with an unbeaten partnership of 67 to end the second’s play. Sandhu picked both wickets for 27.
Meanwhile, hosting Tripura at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali, the Punjab batters were 70/7. After a delayed start, only 30 overs were bowled. Nehal Wadhera (33 off 70 balls, with four boundaries) remained unbeaten. Prabhsimran Singh (21) was the other notable scorer, as rest of the batters were back to hut without contributing much to the total.
Rana Dutta (2/26), MB Mura Singh (2/11), AK Sarkar (1/18), BB Debnath (1/8) and Parvez Sultan (1/1) shared wickets for the bowling side.
