Former BJP state president and former minister Ram Bilas Sharma today organised a meeting of his supporters at his residence in Mahendragarh and advised them to keep patience.

Sharma also showered praises on Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh. Even his supporters, who had gathered at the meeting in a considerable number despite rain, raised slogans of Rao Inderjit. Sharma had been MLA from Mahendragarh for five times but this time, the BJP has put announcement of candidate from there on hold due to hectic lobbying by other ticket aspirants.

“I have served the BJP for almost five decades and I am confident that the party’s central leadership will never deprive people of the Mahendragarh region of their rights. There is no other party in the country like the BJP where the workers are given full respect,” said Sharma while praising the top guns of the party, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier, Sharma’s supporters lifted him on their shoulders and raised slogans in his favour as soon as he reached the venue of the meeting. The sense of disappointment and resentment against the party could been seen on their faces following the non-inclusion of Sharma’s name in the list of 67 candidates announced by the party leadership two days ago.

Sharma had called the meeting by posting a message in this respect on social media on Thursday evening. Since then, it was being presumed that he may take some big decision or make any major announcement but the veteran leader praised the party leadership. However, he could not stop himself to express his intention in a poetic manner. “Mita de humko jamane me dum nahi, jamana hum se hai jamane se hum nahi,” Sharma recited.
